«STRATEGY OF COMPETITION» AND UKRAINE. THE WEST AND CHINA IN SEARCH OF WORLD BALANCE

The publication analyzes the combination of “Competition Strategy” (West/China) and “Deterrence Strategy” (West/Russia). The author assesses the relations between China and Russia, both in the bilateral format and in the international space. Particular attention is paid to the countermeasures taken by both states to maintain their influence and to counteract the strategies of other international actors.The work contains a comprehensive analysis of the transformation of the “Competitive Strategy” into a global project of the West, which becomes the basis for building a new world order and international relations of a new type. The main semantic blocks, individual components and tools of this strategy, the roles of its participants, as well as various scenarios for its implementation are revealed.The importance of consolidation of Western actors against the existing autocracies is analyzed. The place and role of Ukraine in the “Competition Strategy” as well as the opportunities and prospects for strengthening Kyiv’s influence in the new realities are highlighted.As a continuation of the research from the series “Russia’s Vulnerability Matrix”, the first analysis of how positions at all levels and practical actions can affect the Russian-Ukrainian war is published – scenarios, trends and prospects are highlighted.
